2. Backup Using Mac (Finder Method for macOS Catalina & Later)

Steps to Backup iPhone on Mac:

  • Connect your iPhone to your Mac using a USB cable.
  • Open Finder and select your iPhone in the sidebar.
  • Click General, then select Back up all data on your iPhone to this Mac.
  • Click Back Up Now to start the process.

Optional: Encrypt Your Backup

  • Check Encrypt local backup and set a password to include sensitive data like Health and saved passwords.

3. Backup Using iTunes (Windows & macOS Mojave or Earlier)

Steps to Backup iPhone on Windows or Older macOS:

  • Download and install iTunes if not already installed.
  • Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB.
  • Open iTunes and click the Device Icon.
  • Select Back Up Now under Manually Backup and Restore.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

4. Automatically Backup Apps and Data

  • Go to Settings > App Store > App Updates and turn on Automatic Downloads.
  • Ensure apps and data sync with iCloud by enabling individual app toggles under Settings > iCloud.
